If you live in Boulder, Colorado, you can partake in the wonder that is Boulder Baked. This bake shop, or should we call it a “bake shop,” delivers piping hot cookies to your door. True story. Dealing in what they describe as “crazy-good comfort food,” they are (in their own words), “your late-night munchie headquarters.” Delivery lasts until about 2 AM most nights. However, the delivery service doesn’t start until 4 PM. I guess they don’t believe in “wake and bake” in Boulder, or at least not in “wake and baked goods.”
Oven-fresh cookies are delivered right to your door in a pizza box, to keep in the warmy baked goodness. Milk is available for delivery as well, so they’ve got you covered. Their website states:
“Boulder Baked is a bakery that offers nightly delivery of delicious, home-style desserts and warm fresh baked cookies that are perfect for any occasion. We deliver desserts nightly because sometimes dinner just leaves you wanting a little more … So get exactly what you are craving and give us a call!”
I don’t see a family name on the website, but this is obviously a family owned business since there is a picture of them on the site. “We use family recipes to create a dessert and pastry menu that will satisfy any craving!” Again, with the craving. They sure use the words “baked” and “craving” a lot. I wonder why that is …? They offer free-wireless service if you actually go into the shop. “We are located at 1911 Broadway, between Pearl and Walnut, so come try a variety of fresh-baked cookies HOT out of the oven and have some soup and comfort food with your desserts while you surf the web on our free wireless service.” I would like to see the search history of the patrons who frequent there.
If you can’t make it in, you can now order your baked goods online from your own home, so you don’t even have to talk to anyone. All you have to be able to do is open your front door, and drop some money near the delivery guy.
“Our bakery offers delicious homemade desserts for any occasion. Our cakes and pastry platters are a great addition to any event, whether it’s your next office party, neighborhood get together, or holiday party.”
I can imagine the kind of get togethers they deliver to at 1:30 AM on a typical weeknight. There aren’t a lot of office parties or neighborhood get togethers going on at that time, or at least not any of the office parties I’ve ever been to.
I want to go to there. Too good to be true? If you don’t believe me, check out their site at http://www.boulderbaked.com/.
